Every year on June 1, the United Nations observes the Global Day of Parents. This year’s theme is three words that stopped me.
Not instructions for parents. Not expectations of parents. Together. For. Parents.
In 2026, parents have carried more than most people realize. The emotional weight of raising kids in an uncertain world. The invisible labor of staying regulated when everything around you feels unsteady. The quiet exhaustion of showing up again and again because it matters, even when no one is watching.
The United Nations chose those words intentionally. And conscious parenting has held this truth long before it became a global conversation. Parents cannot regulate from empty. And the emotional safety we work so hard to create for our kids requires that we ourselves feel held, seen, and supported somewhere.
Yet so many parents have never actually experienced what real support feels like. Support, real support, looks like this:

On this Global Day of Parents, I want to say simply and directly: what you are doing matters. The invisible work. The daily regulation. The repair after hard moments. The choice to keep growing even when it is uncomfortable.
You are not behind. You are not alone.
If you are looking for a community of parents who genuinely understand the weight of this work, we would love to have you inside the Family Lifeline Community. It is where parents come not because something is broken, but because they are committed to growing together.
If something in this letter stayed with you, simply reply and share what came up. I read every message and I am genuinely here.
What parents often ask me around this time
What is the Global Day of Parents and why does it matter? Every June 1, the United Nations honors parents around the world for their commitment and sacrifice in raising the next generation through the Global Day of Parents. This year’s theme, Together for Parents, is a reminder that parenting is one of the most important roles in the world and that parents deserve recognition, support, and community, not just in hard moments but consistently.
I love my kids but some days parenting feels heavier than I expected. Is something wrong with me? Nothing is wrong with you. What you are feeling is one of the most honest things a parent can admit. Loving your kids deeply and finding the daily weight of parenting genuinely hard are not contradictions. They are the reality of showing up fully for another human being. That heaviness is not a sign of failure. It is a sign that you are taking this seriously.
I want to be a more conscious parent but I do not know where to start. What do I do first? Start with awareness before action. Before changing anything you do, simply notice what is happening inside you when parenting feels hard. What triggers you. What beliefs are running underneath your reactions. That noticing is where conscious parenting begins. Everything else builds from there.
What is the Family Lifeline Community and who is it for? The Family Lifeline Community, founded by Katherine Sellery, is a conscious parenting support community for parents, caregivers, and guardians seeking more than advice. The community brings together parents, caregivers, and guardians who support one another, learn practical tools, and grow through intentional parenting. Rather than striving for perfection, the community embraces the reality that parenting can be challenging. It is for parents who choose to approach parenting with greater awareness, compassion, and resilience, especially when challenges arise.
